    Hari ini 22 February 2012, kita dapat melihat Doodle pada Logo Google Search berbentuk Gelombang elektromeagnetik (animasi Gelombang Bergerak - Merah, Kuning, Hijau, dan Biru) untuk menghormati ulang tahun kelahiran Heinrich Rudolf Hertz yang ke 155 tahun. Seorang fisikawan keturunan Jerman, yang telah berhasil melakukan eksperimen tentang keberadaan gelombang radio dan mampu menjelaskan bahwa karakteristik Gelombang radio memiliki kemiripan dengan karakteristik dari gelombang cahaya, memiliki jasa besar dengan penemuan telegraf nirkabel (wireless atau tanpa kabel).
    Sekilas Tentang Heinrich Rudolf Hertz
    Heinrich Rudolf Hertz Lahir pada 22 Februari 1857 Negara Jerman dan belajar di Universitas Hamburg, serta cukup menguasai bahasa Arab dan bahasa Sansekerta ilmu pengetahuan (Sanskrit side of science). Pada tahun 1880 Heinrich Rudolf Hertz mendapat gelar doktor dan menjadi dosen di fisika, Universitas Kiel, dan pada 1885, menjadi profesor di University of Karlsruhe.








    Hertz adalah orang pertama yang menyiarkan dan menerima gelombang radio. Karya rintisannya meletakkan jalan bagi pengembangan Radio, Televisi, Radar, Satelit, dan Wireless. Bagi fisikawan pasti mengenal betul bahwa satuan frekuensi gelombang radio - satu siklus per detik - yang disebut hertz atau disingkat dengan (Hz), untuk menghormati Heinrich Hertz.

    Salah satu ucapan paling terkenal : "Saya tidak berpikir bahwa gelombang radio terdeteksi oleh aplikasi akan memiliki suatu yang praktis. Tentu saja itu salah untuk menerima begitu saja semua pernyataan ini."

    Ia meninggal karena keracunan darah pada usia ketiga puluh enam tahun. Dan hingga saat ini penemuan Herz sudah membawa perubahan dalam cara hidup modern saat ini.
